1866 Songline Wall piece

$485.00 +GST

Songlines are a complex web of Aboriginal walking linking important sites and locations. Songs are archives containing much information. Certain songlines are tracks forged by creator spirits during the Dreaming and have specific creation stories attached to them.

This piece is part of my latest run of diffusion ware and is a step in a new direction as I’ve moved to a new stoneware clay which has been pinched thinner and is fired higher to 1280 degrees Celsius resulting in a stronger body matt finish.

The art piece is threaded with silver wire to hang on the wall
