This design represents my great grandmothers written mark ‘x’ as she was illiterate and Bulga who is a practical self-contained little amphibian learning to deal with extremes by burying itself deep in mud as drought approaches. Bulga exude their own protective cocoon to enshrine themselves while they enter a state of suspended animation until long awaited rains bring country back to life. They emerge from their hibernation bearing an astonishing cruciform aposematism.

*Bulga means crucifix frog in Gamilaraay language
