Thsi is one of my first sacred seam pieces made in 2021.The design depicts underground opal seams prevalent at the ‘Ridge’ (Lightening Ridge NSW) country of the Yuwalaaraay mob who we, Gamilaroi mob, share language with. The design came from time on country and thinking about the subterranean whilst working in my studio and how disturbing country by mining for opals is very problematic.
